Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the MaMoney mobile application and the mamoney.app website ("the app", "we"). By using MaMoney, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What MaMoney is

MaMoney is a personal budgeting, debt and savings tracker. It is a tool for organizing information that you enter yourself. It does not connect to banks, execute payments, or move money in any way.

2. Not financial advice

MaMoney provides tools, calculations, and visualizations based on the data you enter. Nothing in the app constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Figures such as debt payoff forecasts and spending summaries are estimates for informational purposes only. For decisions about your finances, consult a qualified professional.

3. Your account

Creating a cloud account is optional. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide a valid email address to use cloud backup. You may delete your account at any time (see our account deletion page).

4. Your data and responsibility

You own the data you enter into MaMoney. Because entries are typed by you, the accuracy of budgets, balances, and reports depends on the accuracy of what you enter. You are responsible for keeping backups of your data, whether through the optional cloud backup or the export feature in Settings.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, including attempting to access other users' data, reverse engineering the app except where permitted by law, interfering with the service's operation, or using the app for any unlawful purpose.

6. Free and paid features

The core app is currently free. We may introduce optional paid features in the future. Any purchases will be processed through the app store you downloaded MaMoney from (Google Play or the Apple App Store) and will be subject to that store's payment and refund policies.

7. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep MaMoney and its cloud services available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time. Because the app is offline-first, your locally stored data remains accessible on your device even if cloud services are unavailable.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

MaMoney is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of calculations. You use the app at your own discretion and risk.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any financial decisions made based on information displayed in the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles and the choices you have. It forms part of these terms.

11. Termination

You can stop using MaMoney at any time. We may suspend or terminate cloud accounts that violate these terms. Local data on your device remains under your control.

12. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
