Privacy Policy
MaMoney ("the app", "we") is a personal budgeting, debt and savings tracker. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it lives, and the choices you have. The short version: your financial data belongs to you. We don't sell it, and we don't collect analytics about your behavior.
1. Data stored on your device
By default, everything you enter in MaMoney — accounts, categories, budgets, entries (income, bills, expenses, debts, savings, investments), recurring rules, saved reports, and preferences such as language and theme — is stored locally on your device. If you never create a cloud account, no financial data ever leaves your phone.
2. Optional cloud backup (account)
If you choose to create an account (email and password), the app backs up your data to our cloud database so you can restore it on any device. What is synced:
- Your email address (used only to sign you in)
- Your accounts (name and currency)
- Your category setup and budgets
- Your entries (date, type, category, amount, optional note)
Cloud data is hosted on Supabase infrastructure, transmitted over HTTPS, and protected by row-level security so that only your authenticated account can read or write your rows. Passwords are hashed by the authentication provider; we never see or store your plain-text password.
3. What we do NOT collect
- No analytics or behavioral tracking
- No contact lists, photos, location, or microphone access
- No bank account connections — every entry is typed by you
- No sale or sharing of personal data with third parties
4. Biometrics and app lock
If you enable PIN, pattern, or biometric unlock, verification happens entirely on your device through your phone's operating system. MaMoney never receives, stores, or transmits your fingerprint or face data.
5. Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app schedules local reminders on your device for recurring payments you created. No notification data is sent to any server.
6. Backups you export
The backup file you can export from Settings is created on your device and shared only where you choose to save it. You are responsible for the storage location you pick.
7. Data retention & deletion
Local data is deleted when you delete the app's data or uninstall it. Cloud data is retained while your account exists. You can delete individual accounts and their entries in the app at any time. To delete your entire cloud account and all associated data, contact us at the address below and we will complete the deletion within 30 days.
8. Children
MaMoney is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
